Three Songs
Two Opinions
Provaci ancora Dannie... One Biography
1983 - Hi, I'm Dannie Damien,I'm a musician from the south of Italy.. really bad place !! but let's talk about music, my adventure with the music has begun when I was a child. 1990 - 6 years, when my parents decided to bring me at piano lessons. From that moment I took piano lessons for other 6 or 5 years with the great maestro Elio Orciuolo. 1995 - The times goes by and I was 12 years old, I was admitted in the conservatorio where I used to playin' piano, violin, and studyin' solfeggio. 1997 - I will leave the conservatorio 2 years later and the fact that I can't remember a single name of teachers, well speak itself .In all these years I've played piano in some exibitions, proofs and contests, but I don't remember the very first time I jumped up on a stage. 1998 - At 14 years old I started to play guitar, and my world changed, everything'changed, I took guitar lessons for 5 years with my maestro Andrea Amoruso then I walked my own way I started to play guitar and bass in the first bands.. mainly school bands with school friends, good ole years! With the first band I played at schools, yeah first concert of my lifeI've perceived that was my way.. that was what I do still now.Yeah obviously I played in other bands and that bands were: MCP , Free Fire , Shock Street , Virus , Aneurysm .. most of the times we was always the same about eight persons.. and friends. With Free Fire I've recorded the first demo cd in 2000. 2002 - I join The Scavenger , a thrash metal act. I will leave them after some gig some months later.. no melody, no Dannie. 2003 - I join Skavendark, a sort of symphonic pagan black metal band.. but believe me this description is reductive,and.. yeah we was great , we was a six piece of 6 persons with a different background, style and influences. At now I think is the better band where I've played. 3 or 4 gigs with Skavendark and a band contest. We recorded a demo cd in the 2004 with 5 songs (one of 12 minutes). After the Skavendark I took a rest with the music. 2006 - I read an announce sayin' something like "glam rock band is looking for a guitarist" ,so I take a train straight for Venice and I meet the band, the band was called "Hollywood Vampires" now "Sex Department" it seems I'm ok in the band and after 2 weeks in Venice all togheter, in June we reach for the Netherland, spending 5 months drinkin' and drunkin' big part of the time... music ? 3 concerts in 5 months .. and if you think we were there for playin' our music... damn !! By the way after 5 months with only 3 gigs I said " Fuck I'm loosing my time, my money and my liver.. I go home " and that's what I done. Yeah we can say wasn't a wonderful situation ! Just another broken dream. but for some reason I have to admit that... Those were the days, my friend.
That's my story of the past, now what you can read is the short biography of Dannie Damien... what I am actually: In all these years with many bands I used to write for the bands I was playin' in.. and in the meanwhile I wrote for myself.. songs.. ideas.. various stuff.. I was tired to try to find everytime, people like me, with the same way of mine to think, to play, to wear and livin' music, so I've started to write my own songs just to find a way to vent out from the closing that I've found in the bands I was playin' in. Song after song I found myself with a lot of ideas, then I've decided to work seriously at this project and I've made it ! thinking about everything, from the concept to the practice. This is Dannie Damien, a native Italian gypsy with a guitar in his hand, a stranger in his land, In love with the music. Bye, Dannie
